Everything should work except internet/ethernet. Install intel82566.kext (Snow Leopard version) with Kext Helper. Intel82566.kext needs the versions updated in info.plist file. Get correct versions in terminal by typing kextstat (enter).

Hey guys! Basicly I finnally got my intel graphics working! Took me a while though! Basiclly the only thing I really want now is for my CD/DVD RW Drive to start to work! If anybody has a .kext or somthing I could use on my inspiron 1525 that would be great!(Because im using it for media!!) Also i just bought a Mac Pro case and I am going to try and make the most beefed up hackintosh ever built!!! Heres what I expect to put in the enclosure!(and yes i do have the money for this expensive project! Been saving for a while hahah)

If you see the airport icon before making any modifications, then your wireless card will work automatically. I do not believe that Kalyway has released a new version of their installer since version 10.5.2 so it is probably just that your card is recognized by leopard and will work right out of the box. Do you mind posting the name of the card so anyone just buying an Inspiron 1525 will know which one to choose.

Hi i would like to install osx on my 1525 and had a question. I currently have vista installed with a 250 gig hd and dont want to have to add another partition and shrink the amount of space available for vista. I have another 2.5 inch hd that isnt being used and was wondering if i could do a clean leopard install on that hard disk and then just swap out the hard drive when i want to use vista or leopard The hardware would be identical for both installations but i dont know if there would be any other conflict with the bios or something. I have a dell inspiron 1525, core2duo 2ghz (t7250) with intel GM965 graphics. Is this hackbook pro going to work on my system Are there some problems that I should be aware of Dual boot (grub-ubuntu)is harder to achieve Appreciate any advice.

1) Plug in a external monitor otherwise all you will see is a blue screen booting up. Insert the Kalyway 10.5.1 install dvd and hit f8 when prompted. Type: vanilla cpus=1 and hit enter. Wait for about 10 minutes for everything to load up. Select your language click next than go up top and click on utilities and click on the disk tool. Click on the harddrive name and not the partition, click on erase select mac extended (journaled) and click erase below it. Now make a partition by clicking on partition near the top go down near the bottom and click on options and make sure it is set as MBR (Master Boot Record) and make that partition. Click on the red dot (aka the x button) to close out back to the main menu. Click next then I agree. Now make sure you hit Custom Installation here. Click it. Put a check mark on everything except the bottom one. click on the drop down arrow and de select GUID and Select MBR instead. YAY now click on install!2) As soon as the installation is complete and the computer restart quickly take out the dvd. hit f8 when prompted again. This time I am going to have you bypass the setup program because it stays on a continues never ending loop. OK so type in: -v -s and wait for everything to load. You should still be at the black scrren with text. Now type in: /sbin/mount -uw / and hit enter. now type in: touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone and hit enter. Now we need to setup the password for the account root. Type: passwd root and hit enter. It will ask what you want the password to be. just put what you want and hit enter again. All done with that! Now its time to see Leopard in action (with the external monitor for now of course). Type exit hit enter. (sometimes you may need to repeat that twice.) It will now load up. for the username type in root then obviously your password. 3) Now that you are in before fixing everything lets get this external monitor out of here. On a different computer go to google and download kext_helper.zip and appleintelgmax3100.kext and appleintelgmaxfb.kext put those on a disk or usb drive and connect it to the laptop. Open kext_helper.zip Once opened drag n drop the 2 kext files onto the opened program, type in the password than click easy install. Reboot the laptop when done and unplug the external monitor! It works on the native screen now! Dont worry about the wrong resolution. Just wait.4) Insert the kalyway 10.5.2 upgrade combo dvd and install. Not so hard. reboot. (Dont be alarmed when it reboots again by itself when it is partially loaded back up). 5) Now you native monitor is now fully supportive with all resolutions!! Onto the wireless internet. Once again on a different computer go to the realtek website and download the rtl8187b driver for mac osx 10.3 - 10.4 Before we install this we need to delete a text because leopard will get confused. Click on the hardrive and go to system/library/extensions folder and find rtl8187.kext. Move that babey to the trash and empty it! Now install the newly download package and reboot. When we are back on find the terminal either by searching or unless you already know where it is. Open it up. Type these.cd / hit entercd /system/library/extensions/rtl8187bt.kext/contents hit entersudo nano info.plist hit enternow use the arrow keys to go up and down. Find near the bottom 33161 and change the numbers to 33175. when done press control and x. Press y for yes and hit enter. Done. If it doesnt show up already go to applications and click on the realtek app to connect to the internet!
